TGA Commemorates the 9th Anniversary of Iwata's Death, Players: A True Leader in the Gaming Industry!
Today (July 11) marks the ninth anniversary of the death of Nintendo's legendary president, Satoshi Iwata, who became president in 2002 and was known for his passion and pioneering spirit for the games industry, leaving an indelible mark on Nintendo and the gaming world.
The death of Mr. Iwata was a big loss for the gaming industry. "Today marks the ninth anniversary of the death of President Iwata, and the video game industry has lost a great leader," TGA officials wrote. Many bloggers also posted posts expressing their nostalgia and respect for Mr. Iwata.
"Satoshi Iwata is a real leader in gaming," says blogger Reggie, who has attached a photo of an amiibo figure as a tribute. Blogger Kirby Informer suggests that on July 11, gamers can play something they like in memory of Mr. Iwata. "He wants to see gamers have fun."
Mr. Iwata's life was legendary. He was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, and graduated in information engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology. After graduating from university, he joined the HAL Research Institute and was promoted to president of the HAL Research Institute in 1993. In 2000, Mr. Iwata was recruited to head Nintendo's business planning department. Two years later, Mr. Iwata became Nintendo's fourth president and the first not to be a member of the Yamauchi family.
In October 2015, Satoshi Iwata received the 33rd Golden Joystick Award for Lifetime Achievement. He dedicated his career to the gaming industry, bringing countless joys and emotions to players. His passing is a great loss to the gaming industry, but his spirit and philosophy will always inspire gamers to keep moving forward.
